We just travelled over to Dublin for a family christening...
We were told to book in the Ardmore as the function would be there...
Excellent location for airport transport and good links to Dublin centre...
The Christening function there was fantastic...the food was wonderful and the service was second to none, the room was layed out beautifully....we stayed 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay....live music in the bar...very nice breakfast and great service....the rooms are very comfortable....will stay there again and would reccomend the Ardmore.

Excellent Hotel, deserves more then 3 stars

My girlfriend and i visited the Ardmore recently, staying a friday and saturday night. We were well greeted at check in by a smiling and attentive staff member who informed us of the hotels amenities and the times for breakfast/check out etc. Immediately we felt relaxed, welcomed and at home in such a pleasurable and well lit foyer.

Our room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and like the foyer continued to exceed the standards of most 'budget hotels.' It was modern and reasonably spacious with a fine window {no view of note} sofa chairs, work desk, television, large mirrors and some fantastic light eliminating curtains. The room was stationed at the rear of the hotel and was well hidden from the noise emanating off the busy finglas road. Bathroom was good and featured a good power shower but was without a hair dryer {a simple mistake and not the norm per room}

We chose to have breakfast each morning we stayed and it was fantastic. We were highly impressed with the selection and quality of the buffet food on offer. I loved the hot breakfast while my girlfriend really enjoyed the cold meats and croissants. Im not a morning person but found myself eager for morning to arrive and another opportunity to gorge myself on such a tasty breakfast for only 9.50euro. Service it must be said was exceptional. Each member of staff we encountered during our hotel were extremely polite, friendly and attentive but special note must be given to the staff working the breakfasts. They were immense.

If there are any negative points to be raised it would be:
- The heating in the room and corridors at night was too much. Even with radiators turned off it was still uncomfortably high and being an aussie I'm used to hot nights.. but this was a tad too uncomfortable

- The double bed we requested was two single beds pushed together.. It was fine and we slept reasonably well but its not ideal for a couple

The location has been noted negatively by some guests on tripadvisor.com but for us it was no issue. We didn't drive and instead relied on public transport. There are bus links immediately outside the hotel both to and from the city which is a 15min journey at most and passes by some of the best attractions in Dublin {Glasnevin Cemetery and the Botanic Gardens}
I loved the free wi-fi which was fast enough to stream some live sporting events. It is essential in this day and age that any decent hotel offers free wi-fi, though shockingly other {more expensive} establishments in Dublin do not. Yet another tick for the Ardmore

Ultimately our stay was very enjoyable and we will be returning again. Ive had the luxury of staying in many hotels throughout the capital and for the fees the Ardmore charges, it may well be the best valued hotel in Dublin.

Room Tip: My advice is to request a room on the 3rd floor upwards and preferably at the rear of the hotel to ensure you will not be troubled by any noise from the busy bar or road.

Fantastic value and the staff are a credit to the hotel

I stay at the Ardmore hotel very frequently and find that the staff are both friendly and helpful and always do their best to accomadate my request for the room number that I ask for in my booking. I stayed recently because I was attending a friends birthday celebration, unfortunately on that night I slipped and badly sprained my ankle and had to be helped into the hotel and my room by my friends. The night porter was very helpful and asked if I needed anything like ice for my ankle. I was not able to drive my car so I rang my husband who was in work and he came to collect me at 6.30am on his way home from work. The night porter was again really helpful and gave my husband a key so that he could come up and help me down to his car. We asked if we could leave my car in the underground carpark untill the next day untill someone was able to collect it and the porter said of course and that it would be safe there. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. Its rooms are spotless and the staff are helpful and friendly. Really good value too. I am staying again this weekend and have already booked a two night stay two weeks after that.

Perfect Stay

Once you check in, the staff will give you a sheet of paper with some introduction of the hotel facilities and bus taking tips, which is quite helpful for travellers. The room is clean and beds are comfortable. Highly recommend this hotel.
